Injection at Home Service in Lahore

Not every prescription needs a hospital visit. Shine Care sends trained nurses to homes across Lahore for IM, SC, IV and insulin injections — sterile technique, correct site, right timing. Same hospital standard, at your address.

Trained PNC Nurses 2–4 hr dispatch Female nurses available All Lahore areas

If a patient needs a daily injection, such as an antibiotic course, insulin, B12, a blood thinner after surgery or a prescribed painkiller, travelling to a clinic every day is tiring. Our nurse comes home, checks the prescription, gives the injection and records the dose and time.

Keep ready before the nurse arrives

  • The doctor's written prescription (we cannot give an injection without one)
  • The medicine, syringes and swabs, unless you ask us to bring them
  • Any allergy history

We give IM (into the muscle), IV (into the vein) and SC (under the skin, e.g. insulin and heparin) injections, and place IV cannulas for drips. Female nurses are available for female patients.

Emergency: If the patient gets a rash, face swelling or difficulty breathing after any injection, call 1122 immediately.

Not every prescription needs a hospital visit. If the doctor has advised a course of injections, driving through Lahore traffic every morning to a clinic is often the last thing a sick patient or a working family needs. Shine Care sends trained nurses to homes across Lahore for injection administration — IM shots, subcutaneous injections, insulin, IV pushes, single doses or a full course spread over days. Sterile technique, correct site, right timing. Same standard you would expect in a hospital, just at your address.

When You Would Book an Injection at Home

The situations we see most often:

  • Post-surgery patients needing a course of injectable antibiotics
  • Elderly parents on daily injections for chronic conditions
  • Diabetic patients on insulin who need help learning proper technique
  • Patients recovering from typhoid, hepatitis or other infections needing a set number of doses
  • IVF and fertility patients on hormone injections
  • Blood thinner (anticoagulant) injections after surgery or during pregnancy
  • Vitamin B12 or iron injections
  • Patients too weak, elderly or immobile to visit a clinic daily

For most of these, home injection is not a luxury — it is the safer choice. Fewer trips means less exposure to infections, less stress on the patient, and the family can plan their day around one fixed visit time.

Types of Injections Our Nurses Administer

The four main routes we handle every day:

Intramuscular (IM)

Into the muscle, usually the hip or upper arm. Common for antibiotics and pain medications.

Subcutaneous (SC)

Into the fat layer just under the skin. Used for insulin, blood thinners, some hormone injections.

Intravenous (IV) Push

Into a vein through a cannula. Used for antibiotics, pain relief and some other medications.

Intradermal

Into the skin layer itself. Rare, mostly for skin tests like TB.

The doctor's prescription tells us which route, which drug, which dose. Our nurses do not decide medications on their own — that is not a nurse's role.

Safety Protocols We Never Skip

Every injection visit follows the same rules:

  • Right patient, right drug, right dose, right route, right time — the five checks done before every injection
  • Sterile technique — new syringe, new needle, alcohol swab, single-use vials preferred
  • Site rotation — for daily injections, sites are changed each time to protect the skin and muscle
  • Prescription verification — the doctor's written or printed prescription is checked before drawing up
  • Allergy check — the patient is asked about any past reactions before the first dose
  • Post-injection observation — the nurse stays a few minutes after the first dose to watch for immediate reactions
  • Sharps disposal — used needles go into a rigid container, not the household bin

The World Health Organization publishes safe injection standards worldwide. Our internal protocols follow the same principles.

Common Injectable Medications We Give at Home

Without going into brand names, the categories we handle most often include:

  • Antibiotics — for post-surgery infections, chest infections, urine infections
  • Insulin — for diabetic patients on twice or thrice-daily doses
  • Blood thinners (anticoagulants) — after joint surgery or during high-risk pregnancy
  • Painkillers — for cancer patients and post-operative pain management
  • Antiemetics — for chemotherapy patients with severe nausea
  • Fertility hormones — for IVF cycles
  • Vitamin injections — B12, iron for anaemia patients

Our diabetic patients are usually part of a broader diabetes care plan, where blood sugar is monitored alongside insulin doses to make sure the treatment is working.

What the Nurse Brings vs What the Family Provides

The nurse arrives with

  • Sterile syringes and needles of the right size
  • Alcohol swabs
  • Sharps disposal container
  • Basic emergency supplies

The family provides

  • The prescribed medication (from the pharmacy)
  • The doctor's prescription or hospital discharge slip
  • A clean, private space for the injection
  • Refrigerated storage for medicines that need it (insulin, some antibiotics)

For patients starting a new medication, we recommend having the doctor's contact number handy in case any early reaction needs review.

Same-Day and Scheduled Injections

We handle both:

  • Single visits — one dose, one visit, done
  • Scheduled courses — a fixed time daily for a set number of days
  • Insulin management — twice or three times daily visits for patients still learning technique

For a full course, having the same nurse visit each time helps with consistency, technique and comfort. If you want an overall plan with a nurse handling more than just injections, our nurse at home service covers a full shift including injections plus daily care.

IV Injections vs IV Drips — What's the Difference

An IV injection is a single dose pushed through a cannula in a few seconds. An IV drip runs medication slowly over minutes to hours. For patients needing continuous fluids, IV antibiotic courses or hydration, our IV drip at home service is the right fit. If you are unsure which one your prescription needs, WhatsApp us a photo of the prescription and we will confirm.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much notice do you need for an injection visit?

For scheduled courses, a day's notice is best so the nurse's route is planned. For urgent same-day injections in central Lahore, we try to reach within 2 to 4 hours.

Can I give the injection myself with your nurse's guidance the first time?

Yes. This is common for insulin and fertility patients. The nurse trains the family member, watches them do it, and continues visits only until the family feels confident.

Do I need to buy the medicine, or do you bring it?

The family arranges the medicine from the pharmacy. We bring the sterile equipment and administer the dose. This keeps costs transparent and lets the family choose their preferred brand.

Is the same nurse assigned for a full course?

For scheduled courses of 3 to 7 days, we try to send the same nurse each visit. For longer courses, a small team may rotate but with proper handover between them.

What if I miss a scheduled dose because I was not at home?

Inform us as soon as possible. The nurse re-plans the schedule based on the doctor's prescription — sometimes the missed dose can be added later, sometimes it needs to be skipped safely.
